For Baby, loyalty and love go hand in hand. While he does not hold a grudge against his significant other for past transgressions, he must move past hurtful situations. Here, Baby expresses his frustration through choosing to discard letters of affection and, by extension, his connection to a lost love.

On his hit 2019 single, “Woah,” Baby outlined a similar lack of willingness to start over with someone, even when feelings change:

She said she miss it and sendin' emojis
No time to kick it, I’m always in motion
Can’t say I miss you, I don’t got emotions

Baby similarly mentioned being ‘tired of being tired’ as a feature on Post Malone’s “On the Road”:

I’m tired of bein' tired
This my last shot, you can’t be mad, at least I tried

Baby is referring to going on tours and concerts by jumping on stages. He also claims to receive 200k every time he performs a concert. If Baby sees a hater while driving, the hater will position his/her hat downwards so his/her face is covered, meaning Baby will not be able to see him.

An OG is a slang term for the phrase ‘Original Gangster’ and here, Dominique is pretty much saying that he gets praise from OG’s even though he is younger than them. This line shows his success.

Before the fame, Baby was not able to afford expensive jewelry, so his niece was confused as to whether or not his diamonds were real. Baby is reflecting on his entire journey to the top during the first verse, and he closes it off by claiming that he has been wearing Dior shoes. Dior is a luxury goods company which sells many products including shoes, which are relatively expensive compared to other shoes.

Lil Baby has been learning to get money since his childhood in the Section 8 housing projects of Atlanta, noting how much progress he has made and how he now tours on large stages across the world. He raps about his roots on his November 2018 track “Section 8“: We turned a Section 8 ‘partment to a condo.

This Lyric is referring to a foreign car or a car made outside the US that is very expensive such as a Ferrari, Bugatti, and etc. Lil Baby has rapped a couple of times about his mental trauma. He raps about it on the unreleased remix of NBA Young Boy’s Traumatized:

Traumatized, traumatized, traumatized (traumatized)
Seen my main man commit suicide
It was right in front of my eyes, I couldn’t even cry
To this day I don’t know why, it’s still eating my insides

The person Lil Baby is directing his rap to in these lines is probably his baby mama, Jayda Cheaves . Lil Baby has many times apologized to Jayda for not “being there for her”. He raps about it on Close Friends:

Just wipe your eyes and stop this cryin'
I told the truth, that I’d been lyin'
I gave you racks, I tried to buy in
I even did the unthinkable, and I’m sorry for what I did to you

Lil Baby blames his mental state on himself and not Jayda, and instead makes sure she understands why she didn’t have him present because of his emotional-trauma.

He said that he paint is trackhawk blue like Nipsey because Nipsey hussle was a crip. At the age of 14, NIPSEY (RIP) left home and joined the local Rollin 60’s Neighborhood Crips, a sub-group of the larger Crips gang primarily based in his home neighborhood of Crenshaw.

Baby is expressing a more sensitive side of himself in this line. He is referring to his son who was 4 years of age at the release of this song and wants to be there for his child, even dropping tears of joy watching him grow up. This contrasts to Baby’s own father, who was not there for him as a child.

Baby likens his ability to score off the court to NBA Guard James Harden and his ability to score on the court. Harden is primarily known for his scoring prowess and led the NBA in PPG in both the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 season.
